Fire Maple's FMS-100T King Kong Ultra-stable Gas Stove is a very stable stove which holds the pot well and is intended for use by groups of two or more people that may be using larger, heavier pans.
Fire Maple says:
Major body of this stove is titanium, and weight is 200g, so its pretty portable for its size. Six foldable supporting legs extend in three directions, making the support area larger, improving stability.
With two-channel preheat and windscreen design, this stove delivers efficient and consistent combustion providing continual fire power. The knob of valve can control the power exactly.
Stove body can be used as a wind-screen, making the stove more efficient in these conditions.
FMS-100T is widely suitable for any environment, ensures a stable performance in high elevation and the coldest environments.
What attracted us to this stove is its stability, normally you'd say a stove was particularly stable if it had a good set of legs and it was a remote gas canister stove (as this one is). Fire Maple's King Kong goes farther though, by utilising three double pot supports instead of three single supports the stability of the pot on top of the stove is considerably improved.
Add to these key features the pre-heat system, an attempt at a windshield, and the fact that the whole unit only weighs 202grams and you can see why its attractive. If you expect to be cooking for a group or even only two people you may well find yourself heating up a large pan of water - in which case the King Kong would be a good, and comparatively very lightweight, stove to use.
