UOG TOP PICK - Soto's WindMaster Stove with Triflex + 4Flex - Best Regulator Stove for Winter Conditions - We've singled out Soto's WindMaster as one of our top recommendations because it's remarkably light for a feature packed canister gas stove and has a regulated output for winter use. It is so effective in poorer conditions that you don't even need a windshield.

Soto's Windmaster stove uses a micro regulator to maintain output in cold conditions and an internal piezo igniter that can't get damaged. It also has a unique burner head to eliminate performance problems in windy conditions. This set copes with both the Triflex and the 4Flex pot supports.

SOTO says:

Boil 2 cups of water in under 2.5 minutes in strong winds and gusty weather. This well-made stove is able to stand up to harsh conditions.

The Soto OD-1RXC is designed so the pot sits close to the flame, making it more efficient in windy weather. Results in increased efficiency and boil time. The concave design of the burner head creates the effect of a built-in windscreen. The interchangeable pot supports make this stove efficient for whatever size pot your adventure requires.

Package includes WindMaster with TriFlex (3-prong pot support) and 4Flex (4-prong pot support), stow bag.

Maintains a consistent output
Boiling time the same under a wide range of ambient temperatures.

Shock Resistant!
The Stealth Igniter installed inside the burner post improves ignition and prevents breakage. Makes the stove compact & lightweight.

Ultimate compact stove
Incredibly compact when pot supports are folded away. Excellent for backpacking.

SOTO's Windmaster Stove has all the technology benefits of the Micro Regulator stove and is fitted with a unique burner head that is designed to eliminate performance problems caused by windy conditions.

Its rare that something as ubiquitous as a gas stove gets such a comprehensive design makeover - SOTO have done an impressive job with these stoves by installing technology that really makes a difference. The stove will boil water at the same speed as similar stoves under ambient conditions but upto twice as fast in colder conditions.

This windmaster stove set is supplied with both the three and four pronged pot supports for better versatility.

My favourite canister stove

It's rare to find a product where you can find nothing you would want to change. The Soto Windmaster is included in this exclusive group. It really does live up to the manufacturers claims. The performance in the wind is impressive for an unshielded stove. It might take slightly longer to reach a boil in strong winds but it always manages. It is also impressively fast, the fastest stove I've used which suits me fine. If I stop for a brew or want to rehydrate a meal then I want to complete this as fast as possible especially when the weather is bad. The regulator ensures consistent performance regardless of the amount of gas left in the canister and also allows the stove to perform well in cold conditions. I've used the Windmaster where I know the gas canister has been well below freezing and I've not been able to tell any significant difference.

It really is a windmaster

I bought this stove half a year ago, primarily for use in summer months and hiking in forests. I brought it with me to Jotunheimen in Norway this summer just to test how it worked in the mountains and was not disappointed! I had a wind shelter with me but I didn't have to use it due to the stoves effective handling of wind. The Windmaster really takes wind better than any other top loaded stove that I have tried before. It's really light and surprisingly stable. I keep the stand connected to the stove with a small carabiner though, or I fear I would loose it. It fits without problem in my 700ml titanium cup. I recently used it in 0 degrees C and some wind without any issue, and I suppose it would work fine in warmer Scandinavian winter together with winter gas as well.
