The SOTO Amicus is a high tech compact stove that offers superior performance under windy conditions. All for a low weight and small cost. This version comes with a Stealth Igniter for quick and easy ignition.

SOTO says:

SOTO's first low cost stove with high-end performance. Hidden electric line for igniter. Light weight, compact and shock resistant with improved ignition. Unique raised ledge at the crown of the burner head and concaved burner surface increase performance under windy conditions. Spring-loaded pot supports are engineered for easy set up. Stable for the pot.

Superior under windy conditions!
Unique raised ledge at crown of burner head and concave burner surface boost performance under windy conditions.

Shock Resistant!
The Stealth Igniter installed inside the burner post improves ignition and prevents breakage. Makes the stove compact & lightweight.

Ultimate compact stove
Incredibly compact when pot supports are folded away. Excellent for backpacking.

SOTO's Amicus Stove is a great stove for camping and backpacking and it includes many of the features found on their more expensive models (Windmaster) including four folding pot stand supports and a recessed burner head that provides superior performance in windy conditions. Like the Windmaster, the ignter in the Amicus runs through the center post of the stove, protecting it from impact and creating reliable lighting performance.

When not in use, the pot stand supports and simmer control fold up compactly, making this stove easy to store with a gas canister inside most small cook pots. The Amicus is a quality stove for the cost if you want a stove that you can simmer food with and mix and match with a lot of different cook pots.

Excellent stove...

I also have a Soto Windmaster stove and my only dislike of that stove was that its a tad tall and wouldn't fit in my 900ml pot with a gas bottle. Hence the Amicus. It has similar wind-proofing to the Windmaster thanks to the enclosed burner but is 1-2 cm shorter and so will fit in my pot and, as a bonus, is a little more stable. The Amicus also has its pot support legs fastened to the stove and are really stable. The Windmasters legs are removable which was a bit of a fuss to set up and took additional room. The weight of the stoves is similar when you add in the Windmasters removable legs. The (optional) ignition system is excellent and I'd recommend getting the version with it as it only adds 8g. It works every time. It produces more heat than most of the comparable UL stoves and this is enhanced by its built-in draft/wind protection. Overall its an excellent stove built of quality lightweight materials. You could get an MSR PocketRocket instead for 10g less but it would produce less heat, be less stable (3 pot legs rather than the Amicus' 4) and be more susceptible to wind, though the PR is cheaper.
