The Storm Mitts are waterproof, windproof and really well insulated. They are designed and built to withstand the cold, wet weather encountered in the mountains year-round.
Rab says: Porelle® waterproof and insulated mitt with grip palm.
The Storm Mitt is a waterproof synthetic insulated mitt using Porelle® fabric and Pyrotec™ insulation, designed for year-round wet weather use.
A durable mitt with a nylon ripstop outer shell, it features a thumb reinforcement for added durability, a single hand drawcord cuff closure, and adjustable wrist straps.
Whether you are practising winter navigation or negotiating the peat bogs of Kinder Scout, the Storm Mitt is a reliable choice to see you through the winter months.

Rab's 2018 Storm Mitts have a Porelle Dry lining making them waterproof while the insulation comes from synthetic Pyrotec material. The design and fabrics used in the Storm Mitt make them ideal for the cold, wet British conditions encountered in the hills and mountains. The double cinch across the wrist then at the cuff give you that extra confidence that nothing is going to get in that you don't want and so far that has proved to be the case. The soft leather palms improve grip and the reinforcements improve durability massively.
The biggest problem I have with these mitts is the fact that the 'internal finger pockets' is essentially a glove lining. For me it feels strange and in my opinion defies the point of the mitt. It's not uncomfortable or less warm that I've noticed but it just doesn't work for me.
