These waterproof overmitt's are a simple and effective design aimed at fulfilling the mandatory kit requirements with minimal weight. An ideal racing or emergency use, waterproof mitt.

Raidlight says:

Initially designed to meet certain race regulations these Ultralight Waterproof/ breathable over-mitts are perfect for all outdoor activities to carry for emergencies, giving extra warmth and protection to your hands when the wet/cold weather comes.

Raidlight's 2020 MP+ Waterproof Overmitts are simple and effective waterproof mitts. This updated version sees the use of a much more waterproof material on the back of the mitt to keep out the worst of the weather. Designed to be worn on their own or over a thin running glove. The Velcro strap at the wrist helps secure them and keeps them snug. There is plenty of room inside the mitt and enough streatch to stay comfortable.

They are designed to meet the mandatory kit requirement so they are not going to be durable mitts for hiking with poles etc. However, they are really lightweight, take up next to no room in a pocket and do the job well. I've used these to keep out the rain but more often than not simply as a line of protection against cold winds when conditions have worsened while running.

NOT waterproof but ok as shells

On a wet and windy, but not excessively cold day on a boggy mountain in Torridon these - used without a glove underneath - were an effective wind proof and kept my hands suitably warm. They are extremely light and thin and I was able to use my touchscreen through them to some degree. Any claim to weather-proofness, though, does not apply to rain. They have no semblance of waterproofing.
