Montane's Minimus Mitts are a really simple product - a waterproof overmitt made from a very lightweight fabric makes them incredibly light with a tiny pack size. Sized to go over other gloves this enables you to wear normal insulation when its not raining then cover your existing gloves with these mitts when it is.
Elasticated wrist and a cinchable cuff that extends up your forearm means your jacket cuff extends over the top of these mitts keeping everything dry.

To keep my Power Stretch gloves dry.
I wouldn't use these Mitts with Trekking poles all day long or on a Mountain bike. I don't think they're robust enough for heavy use. Maybe get the Montane Endurance Pro's for that.
But that's not why I bought them. They live in the pocket of my Waterproof jacket. So when it rains, I can put them over my Montane Power Stretch Pro Liner gloves to keep them dry.
Power Stretch - 40 grams. These Mitts - 40 grams. So 80 grams for warm & dry. So far, they're totally Waterproof and dry quickly.
They're sized generously, so I bought the same size as my Liner gloves (Medium) and there's plenty of room. No need to size up.

Sweaty mitts
Sadly, I just didn't get on with the Minimus mitts. They were really appealing with their small pack size and extremely light weight but they just weren't sufficiently breathable for me. If I wasn't wearing a liner glove I might as well have put bin bags on my hands as they were so damp and clammy inside. It would have to be pouring with rain to justify using them because otherwise my hands were more wet in them than out. I do sweat a fair bit but I've never had gloves or mitts that are this wet inside before.
