Extremities Inferno Mitts are waterproof and breathable mitts incorporating Primaloft synthetic insulation and a reinforcement patches to extend durability when using ice axes or trekking poles.
Extremities says: A great mitt for winter walking which provides warm, waterproof and breathable protection. A supersoft lining and PRIMALOFT insulation ensure hands stay toatsy whilst the textured palm and reinforced thumb provide grip and durability. A velcro cuff closure ensures a secure, snug fit.
Primaloft uses a unique microfibre structure which is specially treated to create a core with similar physical and thermal properties to down meaning you will be well insulated against the cold. It's compressible, breathable and has excellent water repellency so you remain dry, warm and comfortable even under the most extreme conditions.
Extremities' Inferno Mitts are filled with Primaloft synthetic insulation which is leading edge in terms of its warmth to weight ratio, this means they are one of the warmest mitts you'll find for the weight - although Extremities also produce the Super Inferno Mitt - which is the same glove with twice the amount of Primaloft insulation.
These standard Inferno Mitts are pretty warm though and will suit most people in most situations, of course they are less bulky than the Super version. Inside there is a fleece lining that also plays its part in keeping your hands warm and comfortable and the Hipora waterproof lining keeps them dry.
Externally there's reinforcement on the palm and across to the thumb which increases their durability when using tools - such as handling ice axe or trekking poles. The ends of the gloves are secured with drawcords which will keep the warmth in and spindrift out.
