The 2017 XT Glove is a great choice for people who need gloves that work with them without restricting movement. With warm fabric and a tough leather palms these are durable and practical gloves.

Marmot says:

Redefining the term on the move. This water resistant glove is made of waterproof and breathable fabric while still offering amazing stretch and flexibility. It features Falcon Grip articulation for dexterity and easy gripping. The nose wipe fabric, palm pad for reducing pressure on the ulnar nerve and undercuff design round out the comfort features. Now updated with more back-of-hand padding.

Marmot's XT Gloves are made with stretchy, breathable fabric that offers warmth and resistance to water. They are really comfortable, with a soft high wicking inner and stretchy Velcro fastening wrists that cut down on bulk to maximise your ability to move freely.

The leather used is really high quality and make these gloves exceptionally comfortable and practical. The gloves feel well padded but when you wear them they feel much less bulky but still very warm. There is additional padding to protect parts of the palm and back of the hand where it might be needed.

Rugged, warm, water resistant - but note the short, low profile cuff

A great glove that I have owned for 5+years. I note the later version has additional padding on back to mine but the excellent leather (so grippy) is unchanged and overall they are still great 'shoulder season' gloves in spring/autumn and for winter use as great for the walk in and up before your big pair go on once climbing or on the tops. They are not waterproof but resist it well and wring out to remain fairly warm - the lack of waterproof lining of course makes them better and more breathable.

The only feature I would highlight is the style of cuff that some will like and others not. I have found it great as it is low profile/slim and so fits well under jacket cuffs. It does mean they are not as warm overall as the material around your wrist is just the stretching fabric, not insulation from the start of your wrists.
