Rab's Vapour-Rise Glove has been recently updated to feature soft-touch velcro cuff closures and new styling throughout. Style wise it has our seal of approval. It looks stylish, is pretty durable and is warm and comfortable to wear.

As for the new soft touch velcro cuffs, they look great and don't catch on your clothing. However I do find it a little difficult to open the cuffs when you are wearing the gloves. The velcro is extremely strong and is very low (to avoid bulk) so it can be a little tricky getting your fingers under to loosen them off. This could just be a case of needing to wear them in.

Excellent windproof glove for the hot handed

Updated January 18 - The Rab Vapour-Rise gloves are excellent in many ways but with a couple of minor tweaks could be even better. The fit is perfect for me. Close without being tight which makes them extremely dexterous. There is no excess bulk so you can complete tasks that would require removal of a thicker glove. The Pittards leather palm is beautifully soft and adds to the durability of the glove. It also offers decent levels of grip when using trekking poles. The breathability seems to be much better than a Windstopper type glove but they still offer excellent levels of wind protection. It's an extremely versatile glove that I have been using in cool weather for mountain biking too.
I tend to get hot hands and heavily insulated gloves get too hot whilst on the move. The Vapour-Rise gloves have been perfect this Winter in temperatures ranging from +10C to -5C with high wind chill. I only need a glove to block the wind and provide minimal insulation whilst also wicking away any sweat and the VR gloves have been ticked all these boxes.
The lining is not secured at the finger tips so after a long period of use the lining can pull out of the fingers when taking them off unless you grip the lining in the finger of the glove. Now I'm used to this I've had no issue with the lining at all. The other minor issue is that when new the Velcro on the cuff is very low profile but also grips exceptionally strongly making it very hard to undo when the gloves are on. Not a big issue as with a few months use the velcro seems to have got much easier and is no longer so tricky to unfasten.
