Klymit's Inertia O-Zone mat puts inflatable support where you need it combined with very low weight and pack size, especially considering it has an integrated pillow.
A durable, pillow-integrated, full-size pad that’s popular among the ultralite crowd. The Inertia O zone™ is the epitome of ultralite comfort innovation. Weighing in at under a pound and packing to the size of a soda can, this pad includes a full-size pillow and an ultra-durable underside for rugged use. And don’t be fooled by the holes; this pad provides ample support at all the pressure points while maximizing your sleeping bag’s thermal effectiveness and minimizing the pad’s weight. Ideal for bike tours and ultralight backpacking, it’s comfortable, easy to inflate, and packs down to the size and weight of a soda can.
Klymit's Inertia O Zone is a step up from their X-Lite and X-Frame pads which aren't the most comfortable sleeping pads in the world - although they have awesome low weight and packed sizes. The Inertia O-Zone is an attempt to address the comfort issue without compromising too much the other advantages of Klymit mats - it does this to some degree and offers a really good ultralight option.
Weight and packed size are still very good, especially when you factor in the integrated pillow. Like the X series the O-Zone can be used either inside or outside the sleeping bag - both options work well though with the pillow inside the bag it limits the use of the hood somewhat.
The O-Zone is still not as comfortable as other inflatable airbeds but we like it.

From 2020, there is a new industry standard for measuring the R-value (level of insulation) of sleeping mats – ASTM F3340-18. This new standard is the sleeping mat equivalent to the EN rating for sleeping bags.
You can now directly compare the R-value of mats rated using the ASTM F3340-18 with confidence that is a fair and accurate comparison between mats. In simple terms, the higher the R-value, the warmer the mat.
In general terms, an R-value below 2.0 is for summer use, 2.0 to 4.0 is for cooler 3 season use and 4.0+ is for winter temperatures. This will be also be dependent on your sleeping bag, how cold you sleep etc. Please contact our customer service team if you need advice on choosing the right mat for your activity.
