The Klymit Static V Short Inflatable Mat is a very comfortable short length mat at a pretty low weight, a great size when packed and at a good price.
A 3/4 length version of the original is perfect for ounce counters and shorter campers. Sometimes, a full length pad simply isn’t necessary to get the job done. The Static V Junior™ is virtually identical to the original Static V™ - including V-Chambers and dynamic side rails for greater comfort - but it measures almost two feet shorter for those who don’t need the extra length. This pad is especially popular among ultralite campers and Scouts.
The Klymit Static V Short is a lightweight camping pad using body mapping technology at an entry level price. It features the V-Chamber design which limits air movement and heat loss while offering a uniquely ergonomic body map which is optimzed for performance and comfort.
While inflating in approximately 6-12 breaths it will save you time and energy wherever you are. Like all of the other Klymit camping pads it features an easy-to-use push valve allows for quick inflation and deflation.
This mat is surprisingly comfortable and great for summer camping, but take note of the R-Value as you do feel the cold through it when the temperatures drop.

From 2020, there is a new industry standard for measuring the R-value (level of insulation) of sleeping mats – ASTM F3340-18. This new standard is the sleeping mat equivalent to the EN rating for sleeping bags.
You can now directly compare the R-value of mats rated using the ASTM F3340-18 with confidence that is a fair and accurate comparison between mats. In simple terms, the higher the R-value, the warmer the mat.
In general terms, an R-value below 2.0 is for summer use, 2.0 to 4.0 is for cooler 3 season use and 4.0+ is for winter temperatures. This will be also be dependent on your sleeping bag, how cold you sleep etc. Please contact our customer service team if you need advice on choosing the right mat for your activity.
