Klymit's Static V Luxe SL is a very comfortable and wide sleeping mat giving you plenty of wriggle room with a small pack size.
The Static V Luxe SL is a lightweight, luxury sleeping pad. The sleeping pad is the thickest pad in the Static Series line at 3.5”. It’s the perfect balance of weight, width, and length in a luxury size. Slightly slimmer than the Static V Luxe, weight is trimmed by using a lightweight fabric and a slight taper at the bottom third of the pad. The exclusive V-chamber design conforms to the shape of your body while maintaining ample, lofted air pockets. The result: side, back, and stomach sleepers can all rest comfortably on a generous bed of air.
Width is the stand out feature of Klymit's Static V Luxe SL Sleeping Mat. For larger folk or those who who tend to roll in their sleep you would struggle to escape the confines of this comfy mat. The depth of this mat makes it a good choice for side sleepers.
Utilising the Klymits trade mark V shaped body mapped baffles from the regular Static V regular the Luxe has additional raised baffles on the sides to stop you rolling off and giving you room to stretch out. Despite the large sleeping space of the mat it still packs down about the same as 1 litre bottle.
This is a lighter and more packable version of of the Klymit Luxe. The SL saves weight with a lower denier outer fabric making it less durable. The SL also tapers slightly towards the feet end. Despite the mats size I had it inflated in less than a minute. The mat comes with a stuff sack which incorporates a handy pocket containing a puncture repair kit.

From 2020, there is a new industry standard for measuring the R-value (level of insulation) of sleeping mats – ASTM F3340-18. This new standard is the sleeping mat equivalent to the EN rating for sleeping bags.
You can now directly compare the R-value of mats rated using the ASTM F3340-18 with confidence that is a fair and accurate comparison between mats. In simple terms, the higher the R-value, the warmer the mat.
In general terms, an R-value below 2.0 is for summer use, 2.0 to 4.0 is for cooler 3 season use and 4.0+ is for winter temperatures. This will be also be dependent on your sleeping bag, how cold you sleep etc. Please contact our customer service team if you need advice on choosing the right mat for your activity.
