Exped's Megamats are oversized sleeping mats allowing you to move around as you are sleeping. Thick for comfort with high warmth ratings.
Mega in size, comfort, and warmth: this is as comfortable as it can get at basecamp, in a camper van, or where light weight is not the main priority. Pioneering a new generation of self inflating 3D mats with a level sleeping surface from edge to edge. This feature combined with the luxurious thickness and simple inflation make it a synonym for comfort.
Exped's Megamat 7.5 LXW sleeping mat is extra thick, extra wide and extra long. Additional thickness means greater comfort, the extra width and length delivers the space to move around while sleeping. Not only that, the Megamat is also highly insulating so you won't lose heat from below ensuring you stay warm throughout the night.
Its a bit of a beast when packed, but no problem if you have transport. There's also a 10cm thick version of this mat which adds weight, packed size and comfort.

From 2020, there is a new industry standard for measuring the R-value (level of insulation) of sleeping mats – ASTM F3340-18. This new standard is the sleeping mat equivalent to the EN rating for sleeping bags.
You can now directly compare the R-value of mats rated using the ASTM F3340-18 with confidence that is a fair and accurate comparison between mats. In simple terms, the higher the R-value, the warmer the mat.
In general terms, an R-value below 2.0 is for summer use, 2.0 to 4.0 is for cooler 3 season use and 4.0+ is for winter temperatures. This will be also be dependent on your sleeping bag, how cold you sleep etc. Please contact our customer service team if you need advice on choosing the right mat for your activity.
