Exped's Ultralite sleeping bags are well made with durable fabrics, high quality 800 Fill Power down and a comprehensive set of features.
Exped says: Ultra lightweight and super compact - perfect for alpine use when nights get frosty. Its trim fit also makes it ideal as a liner within a second sleeping bag for low temperature use.
Exped's Ultralite series sleeping bags are focused on the lightweight market without compromising on materials or features to make the bags lighter - so while some lighter bags achieve the same temperature ratings this is generally because they use lighter weight materials or weight saving features such as short zips and a tighter cut.
The Ultralite bags use 20D fabrics throughout compared with 10D on the lightest bags giving them higher durability, there's a generous footbox and well designed hood that can be cinched in fully round the face. The side zips are as long as they need to be with dual pullers allowing you to vent the bag from the foot end. A key feature of any sleeping bag is a snag free zip and the Exped bags have a stiffened strip along the inside baffle to ensure the zipper works without snagging.
The Ultralite series of sleeping bags are good backpacking bags with all the key features present except perhaps a shoulder baffle, though cinching the hood offsets the need for this.
