The Talus III boasts many of the features seen in higher priced bags and is ideal for a wide range of winter activities – offering comfort, warmth and moisture shedding capability.
Sea to Summit says:
The Talus III is a bag for all seasons and activities. The warmest in the Talus series, this bag will keep you cozy in all but the most extreme altitudes and latitudes.
The technical hood, draft collar and oversized zipper draft tube combine to seal in warmth, while the 2D Nanoshell effectively keeps moisture out.
The Talus III is stuffed with 750+ down fill so you get maximum loft and warmth when the temperature starts to drop below freezing. And don't worry if you tend to be a hot sleeper. It has a full length zipper so you can easily unzip it and use it as a blanket if you start to get too hot. The 2D Nanoshell fabric is highly breathable and water repellent so your down stays warm and lofty even after you brush up against condensation on your tent wall.
Feature wise, it has one of the most comfortable and cushioned hoods on the market as it's designed to cocoon your head completely in a way that maximizes the available loft without making it feel claustrophobic. It also has a discreet zippered pocket which is perfect for storing you phone or other small valuables.
The Talus III may not be the lightest sleeping bag on the the market, nor does it pack down to the smallest size, but it's excellent quality, warmth and comfort put's it on my list of favourites.
