Rab says:

The Andes 1000 offers similar warmth to the Expedition range, in a more performance orientated shape, maximising warmth-to-weight and reducing pack size.

With 1000g of high quality 800FP ethically sourced European Goose Down, the Andes 1000 is designed for use up to 8000m altitude or on exposed belays, in temperatures as low as -27°C. Styled in a 'mummy shape' to reduce pack size, the Andes 1000 uses a combination of high quality Pertex® inner and outer fabrics to provide increased durability and windproof. Key features include longitudinal foot baffles to minimise down migration, chest baffles with internal Flowgate® technology and anti-snag webbing tape throughout.

The Andes range of sleeping bags are hand-filled in Derbyshire, UK.

What is the 'RAB Sleep Limit'? - The recognised method of testing sleeping bags is by using the standard EN13537 temperature ratings, which are carried out by independent testing houses. The test is performed with the sleeping bag resting on an insulating mat to simulate the bag in use. The same sleeping mat is used for all testing of all sleeping bags.

RAB's view is that the sleeping mat used is inappropriate for bags designed for very low temperatures because a user would be sleeping on a highly insulative winter orientated sleeping mat, not the standard one used in the test. The test results would therefore indicate a lower performance for the sleeping bag than a user would experience in a typical situation.

RAB have therefore defined their own 'RAB Sleep Limit' as the equivalent 'Comfort limit' but based on their athletes experience and extrapolating results from other bags.
