Passion bags are the fascination of the “Nothing“. They belong to the world’s lightest sleeping bags.
With their ankle-length zip fastener lowest weight and pack size there is excellently plenty room left for sleeping. With a weight of 25g/sqm the Yeti Rip Stop nylon fabric is still extremely tearproof. Thanks to the calendered manufacture of the fabric good wind- and water-proof characteristics are achieved as well. The high-quality filling is gained from extremely large Masurian (Poland) breeding geese.
This provides for an achievement of loft values of 850+ cuin at a maximum downs/feathers ratio of 95/5.
Comprehensive tests of the used fabrics offer the user a maximum of safety and comfort for skin-friendly fabrics and fillings
EN13537 Temperature Rating
Comfort +7ºC, Lower Comfort +3ºC, Limit Extreme -10ºC For comparison purposes we quote the Lower Comfort Limit
Insanely light summer bag which uses some of the highest fill power down available +850 the Passion series also pack down to an astonishingly small size. The quality of construction is excellent but the real performance is in the down as it is the highest possible quality then (providing it is allowed to loft correctly) it will deliver the highest warmth to weight ratio.
Many ultralight bags save weight by reducing the length of the zip - the Passion Three doesn`t compromise and has a full length zip (with internal baffle) so that it can be vented and is easy to get in and out of.
Also some other bags in this category skip on the hood - which may not be required in the summer with the Passion Three the hood is included so that you can benefit from the all-encompassing warmth it provides.
|Help and advice:|
EN13537:2012 - Look for the 2012 label for the most accurate rating; In 2012 the EN system of testing sleeping bags was re-vamped - the new testing procedures are more rigorous, producing more consistent results than previous tests. 2012 results tend to rate sleeping bags as poorer performing by a few degrees when compared to previous test results, even though the sleeping bag may be identical, or even better.
This means that comparison between an EN13537:2012 rated bag and an EN13537:2002 rated bag are particularly difficult - our advice is to use the new EN13537:2012 rating to compare with other bags who have also been rated in this way.
