Nemo's Kayu 15 Down Sleeping Bag, has a few special features despite its light-weight minimalist credentials. Premium and responsibly sourced hydrophobic  800 fill power down gives an admirable warmth to weight ratio. A well thought out baffle along the nearly full length zip prevents heat loss.

A unique feature of this bag is the 'Thermo Gills' which are a pair of zips on the front of the bag allowing you vent a bit of heat out of the bag. It would probably be a bit tricky to find  the zips in the dark but I'm sure practice would make perfect. Another excellent feature is the use of a waterproof material on the hood and footbox, the areas where you are most likely to get damp.

The bag is high quality throughout with quite a slim mummy fit so could be quite constricted for broad users.

Super Toasty

Just back from the 52nd OMM at Largs (Oct, Scotland) trialling and trailing the Kayu. I do a lot in the outdoors and it’s always a trade off for me when buying kit weight/durability/longevity, so when it came to investing for a mountain ultramarathon I didn’t want to get caught short shelling out on something that wasn’t going to meet my (current & future) needs. The Kayu came up trumps. A little heavier than some other Ultra bags, but honestly 2-300g extra is way worth the extra for a cozy night’s sleep. I needed down with a few layers on and actually ended up being too hot. I was drawn by the waterproofed foot and head areas, the cozy head space and the 2 vent features (which came in handy for cooling down!). I’m certain this bag will be perfect for future winter escapades. Very happy.
