The Exped HyperQuilt is shaped just like the front side of your mummy bag, but cinches around the sides of your sleeping pad, dropping the weight of the bottom of the bag. Ideal for lightweight summer use.
Ultra lightweight and super compact - just right for summer and hut use. Its trim fit also makes it ideal for use as a liner within a second sleeping bag on cool nights.
Some people prefer quilts to sleeping bags during the summer months as they are lighter, more compact and tend to be more airy. Others don't like them as much as they prefer something keeping there head warm in the night.
Exped have really thought about this while creating the Hyperquilt and decided to design it in a poncho style. This allows you to keep your head warm as well as the rest of your body by popping your head into the hood, draping the quilt over your shoulders and then tucking it underneath to keep the heat in. The hooded head opening sits 9 inches from the top of the quilt and has six baffles stuffed with 800-fill down to keep it warm.
As it's a quilt it will work best when coupled with a sleeping mat to keep you warm. There's little toggles on the side of the quilt which gives you the option to attach it to a mat sheet first to provide even more comfort.
The Hyperquilt isn't really suited to side sleepers as you won't be able to toss and turn with your head inside the hood, without covering your face or exposing your backside.
