The women specific fit of the Ultra Vesta 4.0 make it one of the best running vests in the world and this version is lighter and more comfortable than ever before. New materials and design features make this an amazing vest for those longer runs where fluids, food and additional kit are needed.
Ultimate Direction says:
Years of innovation have made the Ultra Vesta a modern classic. Women-designed and women-approved, the Ultra Vesta has been a mainstay at the start lines–and, more importantly, the finish lines–of thousands of ultramarathons since its debut. The new Ultra Vesta is a Signature Series vest with seamless, chafe-free 4-way stretch mesh material and new Comfort Cinch technology that enables lateral sizing and stability adjustments on-the-go. As with all Ultimate Direction racing vests, two 500ml Body Bottles stow up front to give you the fuel needed for the long haul.
Ultimate Direction's Women's Ultra Vesta 4.0 is a great pack in every aspect. The new cinch technology is a massive step up for all running vests. The ability to quickly and easily tighten or loosen the vest with a simple pull of cords or push of a button is amazing. Adjustments on the fly allow you to stay focused on running while maintaining the comfort as the pack changes weight and shape as you use kit.
The mono mesh back increases comfort and allows sweat to move away from the body while the new stretch mesh material is softer, stretchier and lighter. Add into the mix the emergency whistle attached to every pack, two 500ml soft flasks that are included, the numerous secure zip pockets and compression options not to mention the little extra like the branded hair band for the forgetful kit packers and it's no wonder this is one of the best vests in the world.
This pack is a perfect introduction vest for runners suitable to carry you through the marathon distance with ease. Alternatively this vest also suits the seasoned ultra runner who has honed their kit selection to perfection and won't be carrying any 'just in case' items. This vest has worked for me for anything from marathon distances up to 100km in good conditions.
