Ultimate Direction says:
If you’re ready to take your running to new, adventurous places, the Signature Series Mountain Vest is equipped to carry the gear that will enable successful summit bids. Whether it’s trekking pole holders that snap out of the way when not in use or lat pockets that will store requisite emergency items, every detail has been thoughtfully covered in one of the lightest vests for the volume available. Our new Comfort Cinch technology provides a custom fit with easy on-the-go adjustment. It’s a breakthrough in tech that must be worn to be believed.
Ultimate Direction's Mountain Vest 4.0 has been my go to vest since getting it. This pack is perfectly designed for ultra distances and has been improved massively on the older versions. The new cinch technology is a massive upgrade on the old version where the buckle was in the waist pockets. The ability to quickly and easily tighten or loosen the vest with a simple pull of cords or push of a button is amazing. Adjustments on the fly allow you to stay focused on running while maintaining the comfort as the pack changes weight and shape as you use kit.
The mono mesh back increases comfort and allows sweat to move away from the body while the new stretch mesh material is softer, stretchier and lighter. Add into the mix the emergency whistle attached to every pack, two 500ml soft flasks that are included, the numerous range of drop, Velcro closure and zip pockets not to mention compression options and it's no wonder this has displaced many other vests on my longer runs.
This pack is great for runners making the step up to Ultra distances through to more grueling 100 mile plus epic events. I have yet to find the limits of this vest but I will keep trying.
