This modern Classic has been significantly updated and upgraded with durable materials and practical features. A versatile pack that works well for running events, fast packing and everyday use.
First developed in 1973 to a specification set by Olympian and later London Marathon founder, Sir Chris Brasher, The Classic was the first pack to look at weight as a key part of a bag’s functionality. Now in this latest iteration, The Classic balances, weight, accessibility on the move, comfort (at all speeds of movement) and multi-function componentry.
This is the pack that just works. Perfect for an OMM but also at home on something easier like the MDS, UTMB, Spine Race, Dragons Back, Grand2Grand, 4 Deserts, Fire & Ice Ultra, Everest, Camino. It just does everything really well…. It’s a Classic.
OMM's 2020 Classic 32 Rucksack balances durability and weight surprisingly well. The updated fabrics on this version are clearly a lot more hard wearing and easily stand up to the challenges of the mountains. Despite being a fairly simple, stripped back design this pack has some great features. The 32L capacity is ideal for overnight trips and more generally as a big day pack that easily caters for additional winter (or group) kit.
There are really good sized hip belt pockets, a big secure lid pocket, side and rear stretch-mesh pockets and OMM's UGR (universal gear rail) for adding all manner of extra kit to the pack externally. The hipbelts are removable if you're trying to shed weight, as is the foam Duomat insert, which I leave behind more often than not as I'm never going to use it for sleeping on!
