The OMM Go Pod is the essential multi stash pocket, keeping everything you need close to hand, from snack and gels to your compass.

OMM says:

NEW GO POD is a multipurpose stash pouch for items requiring quick access on the move. The dual compression cords allow you to synch the top closed or compress the main body of the pouch keeping the contents stable and secure. Ideal for gels, bottles, compass or snacks.

The OMM Go Pod is a simple yet helpful little accessory that allows you to grab important items on the move. Simply attach it to your pack straps using the attached velcro straps and your ready to go! There's an internal mesh pocket for keeping small items separate.

Simple, but does the job

I wanted a shoulder pocket or pouch big enough to carry my sunglasses and other than the Zpacks shoulder pouch, the OMM Go Pod appears to be the only suitable alternative to accommodate my wide frame Oakley's.

The Go Pod fits my Gossamer Gear Silverback 55 rucksack sufficiently well enough to do the job that I want it to do and even though I also have a GG shoulder strap pocket, which I use for carrying my phone, the GG pocket is not wide enough for my sunglasses (the GG shoulder strap pocket is otherwise a better fitting pocket and is also of superior quality to the Go Pod).

The Go Pod is simple by design and is made of pretty good quality materials; however, the two-way draw string cinch system is fiddly. Given the relatively small size, I'm not convinced that the Go Pod requires two drawstrings, a single top closing drawstring is probably adequate enough and without the need for an additional/secondary cinch feature.

When fitting the Go Pod to my rucksack and testing the drawstrings, one side of the inner drawstring came away from its fixing point located within it's small internal sleeve ( I was not heavy handed when testing the Go Pod).

My only comment on that is how would it perform if handling the drawstring system in winter and if wearing gloves - who knows?

Either way and given that the inner (orange coloured) drawstring is non-essential (in my view), I have removed this drawstring completely, rather than sending the item back and given the black top closure drawstring is sufficient enough.

Note: when removing the other half of the orange inner drawstring, this took considerable effort, rather than risk of damaging the pod, I cut off the remaining drawstring. This tells me that the other part of the drawstring which came away (as described above) is more likely as a result of a manufacturing defect with this particular Go Pod item, but may not be the same with other Go Pod's.

Either way, I am happy enough with my purchase.

Nice kit to suit OMM gear

I already have an OMM Adventure Light 20L so this piece of kit goes well with the pack - I was rather worried it wouldn't suit the bottle setup I had in mind seeing reviews on other sites but once it arrived, it put my mind at ease as a 500ml bike bottle fits nicely into it, even a 650ml camelbak podium - remains to be seen how it works during trail running though, will try it out soon. Shouldn't be an issue with soft flasks if rigid cycling bidons can fit into the pouches.
