Nigor's Zero G rucksack is a tough pack with internal wired frame and foam back combined with features backpackers will find useful, designed to give access to a lot of gear on the move.

Nigor says: Our Zero G Backpack is an extremely lightweight pack with a wired frame harness. Made with indestructible Dyneema and Ripstop Nylon, this pack gets you anywhere. Ideal for lightweight weekend or long distance trips.

Nigor's Zero G Rucksack is designed to be a lightweight load carrier, yet despite the race for low weight it has a range of features found on many much heavier packs - the main one being the lid - with a pocket. Many of today's superlight packs do away with a proper lid to save weight - we think its legitimate to do this - but if you can have a lid on a super light pack like the Zero G, then why not?

Built around the GoLite Jam design it has features backpackers love - such as the large front pocket - side mesh pockets and hip belt pockets. Nigor have also added a wire frame to transfer the load more effectively which puts it in the same category as ULA packs.

We think its a good option for weights up to 25 lbs and perhaps higher.

Favourite pack

I love this pack so much I bought a second one. The main section of the bag is surprisingly big and has a baffle that allows you to cram more in, should you need it. The large back pocket is great for anything you might need to access quickly and the side mesh pockets are plenty deep enough to hold a water bottle / hat & gloves / camera etc and can be accessed while the pack is on your back. The top pocket has an upper and inner pocket, which can hold a large amount of small bits and pieces and there are two small pockets on the waist belt, each of which has an inner pocket perfect for your compass or a couple of spare batteries. I've used this pack a number of times for an overnight camp, carrying up to 12.5kg (including water) comfortably. The only thing that I wish it had is a bungy cord mesh over the outside, but this might affect the balance of the pack anyway. The only problem I've had with it is that I personally find that if I put too much in the hip belt pockets and I'm not using walking poles, my lower arms tend to brush against the pockets, which is annoying, but that could just be me and is potentially an issue with most packs, I imagine.
