Granite Gear's Nimbus Trace Access 60 is designed to carry 60lb loads (27Kg) comfortably and is relentlessly practical with front opening feature, among others.
Granite Gear says:
Utilising the same suspension as our award winning Nimbus Trace Access 60, this down-sized version will also carry and impressive amount of weight comfortably. The access panel makes organising your gear easy and the maple-core framesheet will keep the weight transferred to your hips for all day comfort.
Our 3D TopoFlex frame is engineered to fit the topography of your back and mimic the way a back naturally flexes. The single “Pivot Point” attachment system on our shoulder straps and belts allows not only a more precise fit and enhanced freedom of movement; It supports and more equally redistributes your load along your hips, shoulders, and back! Now made with a maple-core, composite laminate which is both lighter and offers more longitudinal rigidity.
Our Advection Back Panel compliments the ergonomic carriage benefits of the Topoflex gram and harness system by encouraging heat transfer and dissipation while simultaneously using the natural symmetry of the back.
Granite Gear make real Backpackers rucksacks! By that we mean they are relatively light have lots of large mesh pockets to stash gear - and are very comfortable over many days on the trail. The Nimbus range are for heavier loads 40lbs and over - if you are not going on a trip that demands that you carry this much then this pack is overkill - if you do need to carry this much then this pack is awesomely light - any other manufacturer would be recommending a 3 kilo pack to carry this kind of load.
We`ve sold lots of Granite Gear packs over the years and our customers love the comfort they provide - the new ranges of Nimbus and AC packs take the company`s products another step forward.
The weight of the Nimbus Trace pack can be reduced by around 250g by removing the lid in this mode the top rolls and is held in place by straps - perfectly adequate but could be vulnerable to water getting in. The Lid also converts to a bumbag for short outings from basecamp.
The Nimbus Trace Access improves on the Nimbus Trace by adding a front zippered opening to allow easy access to gear - all this adds weight but at under 2kg it still comes up lighter than many other smaller packs in this category.
