A tough backpacking rucksack with tons of extra features. The stiff frame allows a heavy weight to be carried in this pack and wide hip belt transfers the load efficiently.
Stuffed to the gills with peaks and technical switchbacks, every hike is stocked with adventure and you're packed for it with the hyper versatile, and comfortably carrying Graviton.
It's hard to believe the weight of Marmot's Graviton 38 Panel Loader Rucksack when you see how comprehensive the back panel and carrying system really is. The back panel itself is moulded stiff plastic with an ergonomic shape, this is supported by a metal rail which runs round the sides and bottom of the framesheet. It's incredibly supportive and will allow you to carry a lot of weight.
There are 3 main points where the pack meets with your back, two points between the shoulder blades and one at the small of your back (in line with your hips). The rest of your back is free to breathe, kept away from the rucksack with mesh. We don't stock too many packs that do this, as this set-up normally adds a lot of weight to the pack. Marmot have achieved a very breathable back system at a minimal weight penalty.
Feature-wise the Graviton has it all and more, large lid pocket, extra-large side bottle pockets, front stash pocket for wet gear & a front opening zip panel that allows access to the entirety of the pack.
The hip fins are nice and wide giving a lot of support, they've got good sized zip pockets on both sides too.
