Gossamer Gear's Murmur 36 Hyperlight Rucksack is our lightest rucksack in 30 -40 litre range by some margin with an impressive feature set for such a light pack.
Gossamer Gear says:8.5 ounces of barely-there badassness.
Made of 30 and 70 denier Robic nylon, and coated on both sides with silicone for weather protection, this is the impossibly light pack for that solo mission up Exum Ridge or a weekend summit bid for Mt. Humphreys in the Sierra. If you can weigh in your gear at around 15 pounds, this is your pack. If you're not sure if it’s the right pack for you, it probably isn’t.

Gossamer Gear's Murmur 36 Hyperlight Rucksack is our lightest rucksack in the 30-40 litre range by some margin. You can't get this light without sacrificing durability but the pack doesn't lack for features.
The bag has a roll top enclosure which I personally prefer to a draw cord. You get adjustable chest straps and removable hip belts which have zipped pockets for stashing those essentials you need when on the go.
The Murmur also has 2 side pockets suitable for water bottles and a large mesh pocket for further storage options. You also get Trekking pole and ice axe holders.
There is no rigid support structure but the comfy foam back panel can quickly be removed to uses as a sit mat or sleeping pad. All in all an amazing light-weight pack with an impressive features set, not suitable for heavy load carrying or scrambling through rough terrain due to the thin fabric but suitable for saving you weight on your back.
