The Six Moon Designs Flight 30 rucksack is designed for Adventure Racers who require a smaller pack but with improved stability over standard offerings.
Six Moon Designs says:
For the 2015 addition we added deeper external pockets along with an adjustable harness system. The new variable harness allows for a finer tuned fit and more comfortable ride. The deeper external pockets swallow up a lot of easily accessed gear and keeps it safely secured.
The Flight 30 is a great pack for the SUL hiker, the Ultra Trail Runners or for those with their sights set on a FKT. Demanding packs that are small and compact yet carry a enough to travel several days between resupply.
Flight 30 is leaner than similar packs making it easier to negotiate cross country through brush.
The unique vest harness allows runners to jog trails with complete freedom. No matter how fast your change of direction, the Flight 30 stays anchored.
The Vest Harness not only provides stability to your pack. It adds six additional pockets for holding easily accessible items. No more searching for your snack, GPS or camera. Everything is there at instant access.
The Flight 30 is a minimalist pack with just enough features to get the job done. It leaves home all the useless frills that detract you from the task at hand.
The Flight 30 is designed to ride high above your waist so as not to interfere with the natural movement of your hips.
Need additional stability? Add in the optional Ultralight hip-belt. The wide hip belt helps stabilize the pack and it's large pockets provide for additional storage.
Six Moon Designs' Flight backpacks are designed with jerkin type shoulder straps and comprehensive hipbelts that provide the user with much improved stability compared with standard packs. This will be especially important for Adventure Racers who will be running for much of the time. The hipbelt can be removed and a stable carry can even be achieved using the shoulder straps only, because of the tensioning system employed.
The Flight 30 pack is pretty simple, a shaped bag with a drybag style roll top closure, but the hipbelt and shoulder straps offer eight small pouches between them in addition to the two larger side pockets on either side of the main bag. So, keeping gear and food to hand is easily achieved, a critical requirement under race conditions. The pack is well constructed with durable materials, so despite its weight its quite a tough pack.
