Outdoor Research's 14Litre Elevator pack has hip fins with zipped mesh pockets and a host of external carrying options.
Outdoor Research says:
Larger than a fast-and-light daypack but smaller than an overnighter, the streamlined 20-liter Elevator Pack is your go-to for long day hikes and summit attempts. This top-loading, hydration-compatible pack is easy to load, has compression straps, and includes a handful of smart organizational pockets.

Outdoor Research's Elevator Pack is small but really functional, there are not many 14 litre packs that sport a padded hipbelt with zipped mesh pockets - so you can carry a decent load comfortably.
The pack is slim so the load sits close to the back - this is good for comfort and control but will not allow much ventilation of the back area. Not helped either by the simple nylon sheet backpanel - high void mesh may have been a better option.
This is being picky though, because we really like this pack, there are lots of options for carrying gear on the outside of the pack and it has a climbers look to it.
Inside there's a hook for carrying a bladder with a tube exit port on either shoulder strap.
