The Katari is a small capacity hydration pack designed for faced paced activities. Set up for a hydration bladder it also provides a little extra storage space and uses highly breathable shoulder straps and back panel for warm conditions.
When the name of the game is keeping hydrated, Katari is the ideal pack to carry. Built with a focussed feature-set and performance-based shape, this pack is made to move with you during warm weather activities.
A small, streamlined design and stable fit keeps your water where you need it, even when your movement speeds up. An innovative, ventilated mesh harness, back-panel and webbing sternum strap lock the pack down to your back, while the bite-valve is always within reach thanks to the innovative magnetic sternum strap, which can be opened and closed with one hand, while never taking your eyes off the trail. A top scratch-free pocket can store your sunglasses or phone without risk of damage, as well as a separated pouch and clip for your keys. The LED light attachment point and reflective graphics can give you peace of mind in darker conditions.
Osprey's 2021 Katari 1.5 Litre Pack is an excellent little pack for running and riding with. The slim line design allows for a close fit and ensures that the pack doesn't get in the way, no matter what activities you're doing. The main compartment is designed to hold a 1.5L bladder but you can always squeeze an extra layer in there too. Usually with this type of pack the bladder sits against your back making you sweaty and warming up your drinks, however this pack uses the AirScape mesh back panel to increase airflow and minimise the warmth.
The shoulder straps are made with lightweight, breathable mesh too so that helps when you're moving at pace and heating up. There is a chest strap but no waist belt which isn't needed on a pack this light. All of the little design features are aimed at making hydration practical so it's a fairly minimalist design overall. The solid grab handle works really well when you're on the move along with the small zip secure pocket on the front.
