The TOAKS Titanium D145mm Frying Pan is one of the lightest pans we can find. It can also double up as a lid for selected TOAKs pots and packs down incredibly small thanks to it's foldable handle.

TOAKS says:

TOAKS Titanium Frying Pan can serve as frying pan or lid over the pot.

Titanium is one of the lightest materials on the market, and TOAKS does a great job integrating it into their products so you will not only have some of the lightest gear available, but it will be incredibly durable and perform well in the backcountry.

Yes it's not the biggest frying pan around but if you're after something that wont take up much space in your pack or after something to fit perfectly with one of your TOAKS pots then it's ideal. Plus at this weight and price it's great value for money and at least you get to have your bacon and eggs in the morning!

Making the load lighter

I've looked to lighten my load after years of carrying too much kit and cursing as I made my way up yet another steep crag asking myself why I do it. Anyway, I've managed to obtain a titanium 900ml pot and wanted a small titanium frypan to go with it. This nests nicely with the pot. In my kitchen I tested it out by making a breakfast of eggs, sausage, beans and mushrooms over a Primus Spiker 2 gas stove. I wanted to know if everything would stick. Well by using oil I managed to minimise the burn mark. The trick is, especially with eggs, to hover over the flame and keep the flame to a minimum. However, I was left with a black burn mark around 3cm in diameter but I could remove this with wire wool. You are still left with a scorch mark but this is standard with any pot really. Does the job. My cook kit is significantly lighter now thankfully.
