Integral Designs Bugamid will keep the Scottish Midges out and provides a haven until you are ready to retire to your tent.
Integral Designs says: A floor-less pyramid shaped no-see-um shelter offering 100 sq ft (9.3sq m) of screened space and a height of 8ft.
The single point of suspension cuts down on weight and offers several set up options either from tree branches or with an 8 ft pole (not included). The 9 light-weight webbing stake down loops are set 3" up from the bottom edge to keep bugs out and the loops are 8" long so they can be held in place by stakes, rocks or deadfall. The 5ft high light-weight zipper makes for a comfortable entry. An ideal backcountry bug refuge for 4 – 6 people. (includes 25ft of 2.2mm Paraline)
Integral Designs' Bugamid Insect Shelter is made from No-See-Um netting so it'll even keep the Scottish midge at bay. Its a floorless shelter but can be pitched 'low' so that the edges form a seal at ground level. There have been many times when I've got into my tent early because of flying critters feasting on my fleshy parts - with the Bugamid there's no need to retreat, you can stay outside comfortably.
It doesn't come with a pole, but if there's a tree around you can hang it from that - alternatively MSR do a lightweight pole the right length, CLICK HERE
