We're working out what we think - we'll add our view here!

Grivel says:

G1 is a very light ice axe for classical alpinism which incorporates all the characteristics of a Grivel ice axe: hot forged, one-piece head that provides maximum strength and minimal weight. A specially designed pick makes the axes more comfortable to carry and causes less wear on your gloves.

Range of use: Scottish Winter Mountaineering

Whether you’re bagging a Munro or two or having a walk up a snow capped Kinder Scout, this section of the terrain guide covers all activities that involve walking in snowy mountains to help you choose the best crampons and axe to maximise your performance.
