Scarpa's Zen Pro shoes are at home on the trail, one rocky terrain, scrambling or Via Ferrata, a true all-rounder.

Scarpa says:

This exceptional approach shoe is a true all-rounder which is equally at home scrambling or walking out on the trail, yet it’s stylish look and comfortable fit make it perfect for everyday use in less demanding situations as well. We’ve maintained all the best and legendary features of the original model, like the BH last, whilst adding in a host of upgrades.

These improvements include – Scarpa’s Sock-Fit Technology which takes comfort, precision and fit adaptability to a new level.  The new EXO-Scale randing is injected into the suede sidewalls to provide better abrasion resistance and support whilst reducing weight compared to its predecessor. A water resistant suede upper is lined with Cocona® fabric for optimum wicking. Additionally the upper features a generous rubber toe rand and heel tab for carrying on a harness.

We’ve not ignored the underfoot technology either, the Zen Pro has a direct injection EVA wedge which saves weight and enhances the shock absorption dramatically over the original sole. The new Vibram®  Spyder 2 outsole delivers much more traction than before with an all new aggressive lug  pattern throughout, larger climbing zone and improved rubber compound.  The unique micro-embossed lugs take that grip limit even further.

Scarpa's Zen Pro shoes are a true all-rounder with key features that ensure walking comfort, good traction on rocky ground and support for scrambling and via ferrata, ideal for tough rocky routes such as the Pyrenean High Route or the GR20. They aren't waterproof but they are highly water resistant, the lack of a Gore-Tex lining improves their breathability, many people prefer a shoe with enhanced breathability over one that is completely waterproof - especially if you are heading for warmer climates.
