Inov8's Roclite Pro provides a lot more strength and support than you'd expect for a lightweight boot. Definitely a fast packing/hiking boot rather than a running/hiking crossover.
A lightweight, flexible hiking boot for serious outdoor adventures. Featuring a Graphene-Grip rubber outsole and a Schoeller ceramic-coated fabric upper, the ROCLITE PRO G 400 GTX delivers unprecedented strength and durability over any terrain in all weather conditions.
Inov8's Roclite Pro G 400 GTX pushes the limits of lightweight strength. Out of the box this is a very comfortable boot, compared to the 345 GTX it has a similar feel but is much more protective underfoot. The graphene sole is very well laid out and grippy, which gave me confidence in a variety of conditions including wet rock and grassy slopes, with the tread not being massively deep it may struggle in the worst muddy conditions. Another note on the sole, it is showing little to no signs of wear as of yet after a month or so of testing.
The ceramic plated upper does have a very soft texture which surprisingly has done a great job of holding up to my clumsy footwork, still looking great and beading water when things do get wet. The Gore Waterproof Lining also does it's job wonderfully. Overall this is a very capable boot which provides a lot of the advantages a large, bulky leather alternative can give but in a much lighter and easier to wear package.
