Mammut's Kento Low GTX is a classic approach shoe. The stiff feel of the shoe, good grip from the Vibram sole, tough outer with extended rubber bumpers on the heel and toes all set the shoe up to perform. It certainly adds confidence when you're on a scramble or the terrain is mixed. The addition of the waterproof Gore-Tex lining is great for this kind of shoe too.
The deep lacing system is ideal for adjusting it depending on what you're doing in them is great. A memory foam insole adds a great amount of comfort. It performs really well when a truly stiff shoe is needed and the subtle style in the design makes it look great too.
