The Kaha Low provides all the support and cushioning you'd expect from the original high ankle version but in a trainer. With a Gore-Tex lining and Vibram sole this is a top quality shoe for any long distance adventure.
Hoka One One says:
Engineered with the same geometries and materials as the original silhouette, the Kaha Low GORE-TEX emerges this season in a lower, ankle-height profile. Taking its name from the Māori word for strength and support, the Kaha delivers on both, making uphill climbs easier and downhill descents faster. Remarkable in its weight-to-cushion ratio, the Kaha Low GORE-TEX offers the full HOKA package — combining proprietary foams, patented geometries, exceptional Vibram® Megagrip traction and an adjustable lacing system for foot lockdown. Soft and smooth, yet inherently supportive, the new Kaha Low GORE-TEX features the same GORE-TEX bootie as the original, designed to keep feet comfortable and dry in any forecast. Hike on, the trail awaits.

Hoka One One's Kaha Low GTX is designed to provide maximum cushioning, support and comfort. With an impressively plush 27mm stack in the forefoot and 33mm heel this boot is ideal for long distance walking and multiday treks. There is an amazing amount of cushioning and levels of comfort and this version uses a more versatile low cut instead of the high ankle design. As with much of the Hoka range, the style and in particular the look of the sole is not going to be to everyone's taste but the support you get from them, especially for long days and multiday trips is certainly worthwhile in our experience.
In this shoe there is a quality Gore-Tex waterproof lining that will keep your feet dry through a range of conditions, whether that it the terrain or the weather itself. This is a versatile shoe as the comfort levels are there whether you're walking for days or just out for a morning stroll. They also use the Virbam Megagrip which provides a really good amount of grip on varied terrain in the wet and dry. The sole has multidirectional lugs for gaining traction when you need it most and it gives a bit of extra stability. There is variation in the foam used in the sole to provide a balance of cushioning and responsiveness.
