A lightweight but durable saddle pack that makes the bikepacking trip a little easier. Simple set-up, durable construction and practical features such as a separate cage and dry bag mean this is a joy to us on long trips.
Quench your thirst for adventure! Love heading out for spontaneous evening rides with friends, without knowing the route you'll take? With this waterproof saddlebag made from PVC-free welded tarpaulin material, you can explore to your heart's content. The easy access 12 l volume is perfect for packing your gear. A practical feature: it doesn't just keep your gear dry - it serves as a splashguard to keep you dry as well. Side compression straps for attaching the frame construction on the saddle post give the packsack reliable stability and prevent it from loosening during the ride. This product is made with Eco Finish, an eco-friendly, fluorocarbon-free, water-repellent finish (PFC-free). The VAUDE Green Shape label stands for environmentally friendly, functional products made from sustainable materials.
The Trailsaddle Saddle Pack from Vaude is another great piece in their bikepacking line-up. With 12L of versatile space the Trailsaddle provides plenty of space for many of the bulkier items you need to pack on epic bikepacking trips. It's perfect for a sleeping bag and spare clothes especially since it's waterproof. The cage and dry bag are separate so you don't have to attach and remove the hole thing each time you need it. With two strong straps attaching it to the seat post and three smaller compression straps to secure it in place you can adjust it to minimise movement on even the roughest terrain.
The tarpaulin material feels lightweight but it is much more durable than expected. I'm not the most delicate or careful with kit at the end of of a long day riding and the Vaude packs have all stood up to my punishment pretty well so far. Given that the main cage for the Trailsaddle is very durable and stays on the bike it's a bonus that you can use pretty much any roll top closing waterproof bag in it. The saddlebag provided is cut to the shape of the cage but I've managed to use other bags when packing for trips.
