Euroschirm's Light Trek Ultra is an upgraded version of the first professional hiking pocket umbrella. Ultralight, compact and durable.

EuroSchirm says:

For all hikers who are looking for the lightest gear without any compromise regarding quality.light trek ultra: The extra lightweight version of the light trek series. Thanks to its weight of as little as 175 g, the pocket trekking umbrella is unbeatable lightweight.6 special ribs made of aluminium and real carbon reduce the weight down to an absolute minimum. Same as for the light trek as the basic model the light trek ultra has got only the latest and best materials.

Silver UV-light protective treatment option available

The silver UV-light protective coating is especially recommended for the protection against sun and heat. It is almost completely resistant against harmful UV-radiation and offers a TÜV certified light protection factor of UPF 50+ (Australia/New Zealand Standard). In addition, the silver-metallic-coating reflects the heat very efficiently so that it is considerably cooler under the umbrellas with silver UPF 50+-coating than under umbrellas with a normal canopy.

EuroSchirm's Light Trek Ultra is one of the lightest trekking umbrella's made and it is an indispensable companion for hiking, trekking or everyday use.

Although the original Light Trek umbrella is very light, the Light Trek Ultra is even lighter, almost 100 grams lighter in fact! EuroSchirm have managed to reduce the weight down without compromising on strength. It packs down just as small as the Light Trek so it can still be easily carried with you where ever you go.

The only other thing to note is that the Light Trek Ultra does not feature the built in compass on the handle like the Light Trek does, but I'm sure this is not a big deal to most people.

The Light Trek Ultra is strong for it's weight but as with most umbrellas it's best to put it down when it's windy.

In a case you don't trust your 3-layer jacket

I use this umbrella several years already. It is small and light enough, to be carried anytime there's a chance of rain. In scorching conditions, it reflects the heat very effectively. The downside is, a medium breeze renders it unusable. And yes, it is waterproof and breathable at all time.

Too flimsy

Bought this (in silver) hoping it would be a lighter and more compact alternative to my EuroSchirm Swing Liteflex model, for my planned 2019 PCT thru hike. However, using it on the first day of my recent GR130 hike on La Palma, it folded in what I would consider to be a light breeze and one of the fibreglass ribs broke. Sadly it is clearly too flimsy to be used as a trekking/hiking umbrella.
