By reclaiming foam remnants from our pad manufacturing, in the first year of production we are able to keep 8.8 tons of scrap foam out of the waste stream and 48 tons of carbon dioxide out of the air compared to using virgin materials. We picked just the right blend of reclaimed scraps to give Chipper™ excellent support and resilience. And utilizing the hexagonal nesting pattern from our Switchback™ pad, we were able to optimize for packed size and weight.

Nemo's Chipper Reclaimed Closed-Cell Foam Seat is a simple and highly effective sit mat that is small and light enough to take on any trip. The recycled foam material comes entirely from industrial scraps, giving it a genuinely unique look with no two mats being the same, and is much more environmentally conscious which is always a huge plus.
The closed cell foam design provides a fail safe barrier giving you extra padding and warmth wherever you decide to sit. The mat design feels surprisingly dense for foam which results in a really good amount of cushioning and with its small size it is easily stowed so it comes on all of my day trips and many overnighters too when weight and packsize are important.
