Brunton's TruArc 5 compass has a large baseplate, a needle mounting suitable for both hemispheres and an easy to use rotating bezel.
Brunton says: The ideal mapping compass, TruArc 5 base plate models have additional map grid lines for quick orientation and a magnifier for easy reading.
TruArc Global Needle system means you don’t have to buy a new compass when you make that trek to South America or Australia, and tool-less declination adjustment will keep you on course anywhere in the world.
Brunton's TruArc 5 baseplate compass is easy to read and to use and has a larger baseplate than the TruArc 3 making it more useful when taking a map bearing.
The Global Needle feature means you can use it confidently in Southern Chile or Argentina etc, some compasses have a needle that doesn't work easily in southern latitudes and are 'balanced ' for the Northern hemisphere - no such worries with this one.
Comes with a lanyard. Baseplate has a map magnifier which is small - so hardly any use.
