The highly successful JavaPress has received an update for this season. It retains the simple, practical design that allows you to make and enjoy quality coffee when you're at camp or on the move.
GSI Outdoors says:
The design is pure GSI genius. The plunger is the mug. No obtrusive rod to poke you in the eye as you drink, no grounds working their way around a flimsy screen. This is the portable coffee press perfected. A precision-engineered inner sleeve acts as a no-mess press, then becomes an additional wall of insulation to keep your coffee – or tea – hot. The copolyester construction is shatter-resistant and BPA-free, the secure top seals in the heat and helps prevent spills, a nylon-wrapped insulated sleeve adds warmth and protects your hands, and the whole thing fits neatly into your cup holder.
Incredibly clever design removes the intrusive plunger rod from classic French Press designs and replaces it with an inner mug that creates a double wall of insulation to keep your coffee or tea hot while eliminating blow-by and grit.
GSI Outdoors' 2020 Commuter JavaPress is still a great piece of kit for the coffee lover. The updates see improvements in the materials used, tweaks to the lid design and a more streamlined feel. It still comes in two separate parts which replaces the awkward plunger with a clever insert. You make and drink the coffee in this one piece of kit making life much easier and quicker when you need that caffeine hit.
The design includes a rubber base to provide extra stability and an insulated sleeve to keep the drink warm and your hands protected. The separate parts of the Javapress are easily detached so that it can be thoroughly cleaned.
