The Dynotherm Hooded Down Jacket is lightweight, warm and packable. An ideal mid layer insulation that will comfortably replace a much heavier fleece.
Mountain Hardwear says:
Lightweight, versatile, and packable, with a high warmth-to-weight ratio. The Dynotherm Hooded Down Jacket is made for cold, active afternoons outside with friends and even colder evenings around the campfire. It’s fortified with Q.Shield® DOWN 650-fill insulation, which retains critical loft and warmth even when wet, so you stay comfortable without the bulk.
The Dynotherm Hooded Down Jacket is very similar to Mountain Hardwear's older Micro Ratio Hooded Jacket but with a few small changes. It's still filled with 650 Fill Power hydrophobic 'Q.Shield' down, so it will not achieve the warmth to weight ratios of garments using higher Fill Power down clusters, however it's still a highly technical and very lightweight Jacket.
The outer fabric has a nice matt finish rather than the shiny appearance associated with the lightest garments and with a double-needle stitching it adds extra durability, style and texture.
Feature wise the cuffs are lightly elasticated, there's a drawcord hem and two hand warmer pockets. Unlike the Micro Ratio Jacket, the Dynotherm also features an small zip chest pocket. The hood is a simple close fitting design which is the most efficient when it comes to insulating your head.
