UOG TOP PICK - Mountain Equipment Shivling Gore-Tex Jacket - We've singled out Mountain Equipment's Shivling as one of our top recommendations because it uses the fantastic Gore-Tex Pro fabric to provide maximum weather protection. The 40D fabric is still surprisingly lightweight but certainly tough and durable for taking on serious mountain conditions.

Mountain Equipment's Shivling Gore-Tex Jacket has all the features you would expect to see on a top-of-the-range +£300 jacket. It delivers bombproof rain protection in a great looking package. The 40 denier fabric feels stiff but softens over time with use, the stiffness of the fabric is reassuring and gives you the sense that this jacket will stand up to some serious weather.
The hood has good adjustment with an extra large peak that feels so much more substantial than what you normally get on a waterproof, you could really hunker down in this jacket and feel very protected from the weather.
