Scarpa's Ribelle Mountain Tech OD will certainly divide opinion. The stiff sole combined with soft, flexible upper create a very lightweight alpinist boot. The style and design of the Ribelle is definitely like Marmite but these are very innovative in a lot of different ways.
The Ribelle's have a B1 (just) rating capable of taking crampons changing them from being a lightweight approach style boot to a more serious technical option. The Vibram soles have a really good grip while the shape is perfect for covering ground quickly. They were designed with speed and agility in mind and the low weight and combination of stiff sole and stretchy upper.
On a simple, practical note I found these pretty difficult to get on due to the high 'Sock-Fit Plus' design but once on they are really comfortable. The soft, flexible materials on the upper make for a great boot to wear all day. I would have to question how good these boots would be in cold winter conditions as there is little to no insulation but the use of OutDry materials mean that they are fully waterproof and breathable. The lace protection is novel and looks good but didn't make any real difference during activities in my opinion.
