The Isotherm Jacket is a lightweight synthetic jacket that is super warm and extremely breathable. Ideal for active use in cold conditions.

Marmot says:

Whether backcountry skiing or ice climbing, the Isotherm Jacket is built for the active purists.

The lightweight 20-denier Pertex Quantum down-proof fabric is filled with Polartec Alpha insulation for warmth when you’re on the move; breathable Polartec Power Stretch panels allow uninhibited movement. Layer this incredibly lightweight puffy over a midlayer for warmth when you’re on the move.

|Polartec Alpha, Overheating is Underperforming - So unlike traditional synthetic fill or down, Polartec Alpha allows a free exchange of air to keep you warm, comfortable and focused. Developed for U.S. Special Operations and now available for outdoor enthusiasts, it takes performance fabric—and you—to a totally new place. Click the Logo to read more...
|Polartec Powerstretch - Feature body hugging 4-way stretch and are very breathable. They keep you dry when you sweat and provide warmth without weight. These are the most versatile outdoor and fitness clothing fabrics available today. Click the Logo to read more...

The Polartec Power Stretch side panels gives the shoulders and sleeves excellent breathability and a four-way stretch for uninhibited movement, but the real story is in Polartec Alpha itself, designed to be worn when you are active - so on the move - there are alternative insulation garments that are more suited to wearing around camp - Strata is about keeping you vented even though you are also being kept insulated.

Its quite a breakthrough, especially for cold weather walking when you need insulation but start sweating hard when you reach a strenuous bit. Weight for weight Polartec Alpha is only about half as warm as Primaloft so the king of insulation keeps its crown - but Alpha has its place - I recently wore an Alpha garment all day while walking in Corsica in particularly cold conditions and stayed warm & comfortable for the duration - I kept checking my baselayer, which stayed completely dry.

The Jacket features an AirExchange Lining that will help the jacket to breathe and has a bonus of feeling soft against your skin. There are 2 good sized hand warmer pockets with a a small chest pocket for storing a phone or other valuables. There is also a large interior mesh pocket that would be good for storing gloves or a hat. The elastic bound cuffs and elastic drawcord hem will help prevent cold air from getting in. The Isotherm Jacket is ideal for keeping warm during active use with out over heating.
