The Exile Jacket is a durable, wind-resistant Polartec Wind Pro fleeced jacket, designed for climbing and active use in varied conditions, or as a mid-layer when climbing in colder environments.
The Exile Jacket uses a Polartec Wind Pro fabric with Hardface Technology, providing 4x more wind resistance than traditional microfleece, whilst maintaining extremely high levels of breathability. Climbing specific features include a lycra under-helmet hood and low bulk Polartec® Power Stretch Pro inserts at the back of neck and cuffs, to further increase freedom of movement. Polartec® Hardface Technology increases water and abrasion resistance, creating a smooth surface for easier layering use.

The Exile Jacket is basically replacing the Rab Shadow Hoodie as the new warm and weather repellent fleece that also offers good wind protection. Like the Shadow Hoodie, it's constructed from Polartec Wind Pro which is four times more wind resistant than a traditional fleece, and also offers high levels of breathability. The outside of the fabric has Hardface technology, a treatment that provides exceptional abrasion resistance for garment durability and protection from bad weather repelling light rain and snow.
The internal brushed lining and four way stretch provides warmth on cool days and acts as a warming mid-layer on really cold days while still allowing for excellent freedom of movement. It features a climbing specific close fitting lycra edged hood that can fit comfortably under a climbing helmet while the body has been cut closely so a harness can be worn over the jacket, without interfering with the high A-line pockets. Long sleeves with thumb loops allow the wrists and backs of the hands to be kept warm, and the low bulk Polartec Power Stretch Pro inserts at the back of the neck and cuffs increase the freedom of movement.
