Berghaus' design team have really pushed the limits of waterproof jacket design with the GR20 Storm Gore-Tex Shell Jacket. The main criticism of Gore-Tex over the years has been that you still get moisture inside due to perspiration needing to be drawn through the fabric. Gore-Tex Active is the first defence against this problem, it's Gore-Tex's most breathable waterproof fabric technology, secondly Berghaus have incorporated numerous vents around the jacket to assist in getting the moisture vapour out of the garment. These vents feature across the chest, under the arms, on the sides, across the back and at the neck of the jacket. The fabric overlaps inside and even has a gutter to stop any water from entering the jacket no matter at what angle your body is. These vents might not suit every end-user if you can't get your head around having multiple holes in your waterproof jacket before you've even used it once.
The coloured areas of fabric are using a different face material which features Ripstop. These are strategically placed in high-wear areas.
