UPF 40: Very good UV protection so that you can enjoy the sun and mountain sports well protected. A UPF rating of 40 means that a given piece of fabric allows a maximum of 2.5% (<1/40) of the UV rays that hit it to penetrate through. The UV protection is created by the choice of fibres, weave, material thickness or by inserting a titanium dioxide “protective screen” into the fabric. Titanium dioxide is completely environmentally friendly and has been rated by the EU as harmless. [according to the Australian/New Zealand standard AZ/NZS 4399:1996] 

Protection from Pests: The Mosquito Hat offers two types of insect protection:
1. Special anti-mosquito finish on the material.
2. Use of a fine mesh.

Hat Sizing

Most of the hats we sell are either 'one size' or sold as 'S,M,L,XL'. However a few use International Hat Sizes, which are specified below. The Mosquito Hat comes in Medium, Large and Extra Large - use the table below to estimate your size.

How to determine Hat Size:

Measure circumference of head, usually about 3/4" above the ear valley, where hat is worn. 2. Measure tight to 1/8" for accuracy.
