Our Verdict
Ultralight packs tend to be clean and simple to keep the weight down - what Vaude have done is start with a traditional fully featured pack and figure out how to make it lighter. So there's everything that you could wish for in a pack including a very comfortable adjustable harness sytem that will support a backpacking load.
The main characteristics of the pack itself are about how its organised - so there are two compartments that can be turned into one by removing the zip out panel. Access at the top is via a hefty zip opening rather than the more conventional lid and there's a further zip access panel to the lower compartment.
There's even a third zip access to the main compartment on the front of the pack plus a flat pocket thats ideal for a map - though not accessible while wearing the pack. The pocket at the top has two compartments - one with a further mesh organiser inside.
It also has the now obligatory hip belt pockets and side mesh pckets astride the main compartment.
As a 50L pack its not ultralight - but it offers a high level of comfort with the organisational potential of a much larger and heavier pack. If this is what you're looking for its a great pack.
